Online Library Card Application
A 21-day temporary library card number, good for using most
online resources from home as well as for placing up to three holds
on library materials, may be obtained by filling out the
online library card application(click on the
link that says "click here to register now"). To check out
materials, or to continue using online resources beyond the 21-day
temporary period, applicants must appear in person at a library
branch, submit an application, and show acceptable identification in
order to receive a permanent library card number.
Renewals Materials may
be renewed up to two times if there are no
hold requests on the items. Convenient renewals are accessible 24/7
with your library card number and PIN through two methods of
ExpressServices: the Automated Telephone Services at 770-781-9865
and the library’s
online catalog. During
open hours courteous library staff will assist you at the
Circulation Desk at one of the branches or you can call 770-781-9840
for assistance.
Fines
To encourage the prompt return of materials so that others
may use them, the library charges 20¢ per
day per item for late returns. When a patron’s fines and fees total
$10.00 or more, the library card is blocked until the total goes
under $10.00. In addition when a patron owes $10.00
or more in any combination of fines, fees, or the value of long
overdue materials, the account is referred to Unique Management
Services, Inc. a collection agency that specializes in libraries,
and an additional processing fee is added.
