The Forsyth County Public Library
Friends & Advocates, formerly known as the Forsyth County
Friends of the Library, is an organization that supports the
programs, resources and staff of the Forsyth County Public Library.
The Library can never have too many Friends.
The Friends & Advocates welcome the application of new members and
renewals from current members. The cost of a yearly individual
membership is $15.00; a family membership is $20.00. Other membership categories
are available for seniors and businesses. Membership
entitles the holder to gain advance entry to book sales sponsored by
the Friends & Advocates. Funds generated by the Friends & Advocates
sponsor library programs and resources.
The Forsyth County Public Library Friends & Advocates organization
is registered with the State of Georgia and FOLUSA – Friends of the
Library USA. Two general membership meetings are held each year.
Meeting minutes and organization bylaws are on public display in the
Library.
The Friends & Advocates maintain a separate website at the following
address: http://forsythfol.org/.
There, patrons may become a
Friends & Advocates member, sign up to be a Friends volunteer,
make a donation, "Like" their
Facebook page, or request that the Friends pick up a donation of
books to the Library.
